What the job title means: A Reservoir Engineer’s job occurs at the crossroads of engineering and economics. I am responsible for using various measurements and regional data to quantify the amount of hydrocarbons that can be recovered from a reservoir as well as how quickly we can recover them. Every well that we drill requires an investment of millions of dollars, as such my job requires me to determine the risks and potential rewards of drilling the well.
Brief Bio: Ever since my high school days I’ve always been interested in math, chemistry, and physics. I knew early on that I wanted to pursue a career in engineering. Petroleum engineering specifically has been a very challenging and fulfilling career. I’ve reviewed projects as close as Washington County, PA and as far as offshore of Western Australia. My career has given me the opportunity to live in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Montana, Colorado, and now Calgary, Alberta. Every day is a new challenge and I must use my background in math and science to solve problems as they present themselves.
